Application

Use on...

Before you start
  1. Make sure the surface is clean and dry. Use a stiff broom to get rid of any ingrained dirt.
  2. If you have mould, algae or fungi, use a garden cleaner to get rid of them.
  3. Decayed wood should be strengthened with a wood hardener.
  4. If there is any paint, stain or varnish on the wood you will need to remove it. You can do this with a stripper or sanding the surface.
Application
  1. Give the tin a good shake to mix the colour pigments.
  2. Dip the end grains into the preserver so it completely soaks into the wood.
  3. Use a brush to apply preserver to the rest of the wood.
  4. Wait 24 hours for the first coat to dry.
  5. Add a second coat, following the same process.
  6. If you need to carry out any repairs or gluing, wait until the second coat is totally dry.
Aftercare

To keep your wood in a good condition, apply a new coat every year.

Cleaning

  1. Remove as much excess product off your brush as you can.
  2. Clean it with a brush cleaner

You should never empty left over preserver into drains or watercourses. To find out how to properly dispose of your leftovers, contact your local council.
