Use on...

Before you start

Our Decking End Grain Protector works best on a warm (above 10°C) dry day – so make sure rain isn’t forecast.

Give your deck a good scrub and clean to remove excess dirt, grease and debris.

Make sure the wood is clean and dry to help the protector soak in.

Application
  1. Give the tin a thorough stir so ensure the consistency is smooth. You need to continue stirring as you use it.
  2. Get loads of protector on your brush and coat the deck ends. If you get any on top of the boards, just wipe it off with a cloth.
  3. Leave a maximum of four hours for the first coat to dry.
  4. Apply the second coat.
  5. Leave the coat to dry for another four hours before you can stain or oil over it.
Aftercare

Cleaning

Take as much protector off your brush as possible. Then clean it in warm soapy water.

If you have leftover protector, contact your local council to find out the best way to dispose of it.

Maintenance

Don’t forget that the rest of your decking needs protecting, not just the end grains! Use a stain or oil to protect the rest of your decking.
